Description
The Science Department is committed to the achievement of scientific excellence for all students through literacy and inquiry-based instruction. In our quest for scientific literacy, we seek to expose teachers and students to various research based “best practices” and methods in learning science.
Goal
Our goal is to provide all teachers of science with year-round conceptual staff development trainings that will demonstrate how to effectively facilitate instruction. Through this, students will have the opportunity to experience the excitement and phenomenon of the natural world; use the scientific processes and principles during their hands-on-minds-on investigations, also engage intelligently in discourse and debate about matters of scientific and technological discoveries.

The Science Department of LISD is dedicated to the teaching of “Real Science in Real Time” to all students.
